Client: Department of Human Services / North Richmond Housing Estate (Australia) Consultant: CoDesign Studio (Melbourne) Co-facilitator/researcher: Justin
As part of the larger Richmond Renewal Project in Melbourne, CoDesign Studio was engaged by DHS to conduct a signage audit and redesign at the North Richmond Housing Estate. The Renewal Project’s goal was to create livable, well-connected communities for a diverse mix of residents, while also contributing to the amenity of the surrounding areas.
The project team worked through a collaborative development process which included site research, multiple rounds of community engagement and workshops, and design development to arrive at the final solution.
Justin served as a design consultant and team leader, assisting with the design of the project, liaising with with the estate working group, and advising and overseeing the design development. He coordinated the signage audit and compiled the research report. Community engagement was a collaborative process over a number of months in an effort to have input from a wide range of residents. The design process was also collaborative, with a range of potential designs being developed from the community consultations, and the final design being decided by the estate working group.
Sign On campaign
Client: Greenpeace NZ Creative/design: Justin
We did a spot of pro-bono work for Greenpeace, developing some ideas for support banners for their SignOn climate campaign rally.
The creative was simple: a mix of NZ’s own successful ‘100% Pure’ and the campaign call for a 40% reduction of emissions by 2020. Placards were produced in house by the GP crew using stencils and paint.
